Like Wike, Sim Won’t Care About Hungry Rivers People -Youth Leader

A youth leader in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr Dike Elijah has faulted the state governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in the area of employment, empowerment and human capital development.
Elijah who spoke with TNN in an exclusive interview posited that lack of employment, empowerment, human capital development is responsible for the rise in kidnapping, rape, and other social vices experienced in the state.
He claimed that “the administration of Wike, if we have 100 per cent in terms of let me call it scoring them, are you getting me? Nyesom Wike should be having 40. Yes, I am telling you, I have facts. You want to hear my points? Now, the truth is in terms of governance, the most important thing is protection of lives and property, it’s a function of government and as well as the attribute of a very responsive government, now, Nyesom Wike is scoring 10 in terms of protection of lives and property of Rivers residents.
“If you talk about in the aspect of human capital development, zero, because from 2015 till date, he just started partial payment of retirees, I’m talking about pensioneers, no form of empowerments, no form of human capital development, no employment of any form, and as a result what we have in the state is high rise in the area of criminality, social vices, we have rape here and there, we have kidnapping, as I speak with you, last week, was it yesterday, Trans-Kalabari road, they adopted people, last month we recorded same, so you see high level of cultism in Emohua local government, go to Riverine area, go to Ogoni, what is happening? No peace in the state, because when there are no means of empowering the masses what you get is social vices.”
On the flyovers constructed by the governor, the youth leader said: “I want to prove to you that when you are hungry you will not have the power and the means of climbing these overhead bridges he has been constructing, you expect hungry men, when you don’t have a vehicle, what business do you have with overhead bridge?
“People keep saying he is trying; he is trying because he is constructing bridges, how can you concentrate your administration in just two local governments; Obio/Akpor and PHALGA, what about the rest 21 local governments? I don’t know if you are getting what I am saying, so because of the few infrastructural development he has done I can score him 40.
“It is only when people are no longer hungry that they will begin to clap and say he is doing well, because even a pastor in the church will tell you that Nyesom Wike has not done anything, in as much as people are hungry, and people are yearning for food, I don’t believe he has done well, because these bridges, it takes car to climb bridge na! and when you don’t have money to purchase vehicle what business do you have with bridges?
“I want to plead, but no time again, if he had time, I would have said he should focus and take his administration and leadership to areas of empowering the masses, the hunger in the land is too much, and I cannot say he has done anything, if not for the few private sectors we have in Rivers State, people would have died, go to private schools this is where you will know, you see a graduate with certificate earning 20, 15, 17 thousand, a graduate that have served Nigeria, a situation where a commissioner cannot even boast of a private car, the traditional rulers cannot have their cars, they are still using the car given to them by the administration of Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, since 2014, 2013 till date.”
