The Rivers State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Mr Moses Oleghe, has lamented the infrastructural decay, including hostels, in the permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.
Oleghe also decried the flooding situation in the camp and appealed for urgent intervention to salvage the challenges.

He made this appeal on Monday, when the Director General of NYSC, Brig Gen. O.O Nafiu, visited the 2025 Batch A Stream II corps members deployed to Rivers State, at NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.
Oleghe informed the DG that the corps members have been excellent, outstanding and exemplary in their behaviour as well as actively participating in all camp programmes and activities.
On his part, the DG charged the corps members to exhibit topnotch discipline at camp and their place of primary assignment.
Nafiu also warned the corps members against travelling at night, urging them to respect the culture of the people of the host community, embrace SAED, save from their allowance, start a business and be security conscious at all times.
He enjoined them to, “build bridges of sustainable friendship across ethnic and cultural divide, rather than limiting themselves to myopic attachment to wall of ethnicity, tribalism and religion if they want to succeed in life.
“Develop a deep sense of patriotism by believing in Nigeria and working assiduously to build her to an enviable height.
“As elite graduate youths and leaders of tomorrow, you must take responsibility to ensure the country’s growth and development, if you fail to build the country, no one will build it for them.”
The DG concluded by reminding the corps members about the core values and ideals of NYSC, which they must uphold at all times in order to enjoy a seamless service year.
Nafiu was joined in the visit by Acting Director on Special Duties, Alhaji Nura Umar, Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Carol Embu and South South Area Office II, Port Harcourt, Mr. Philip Enaberue.
