Emergency Rule: Fubara’s Whereabouts Uncertain As Security Architecture Changes In Govt House
Even though the suspended governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara was in Government House with some visitors as at the time of his suspension, his whereabouts were uncertain hours after.
He was said to have been in his official residence as at the time of the announcement and watched the president’s broadcast.
TNN learnt on Tuesday night that virtually all the secret police personnel in Government House left the seat of government minutes after the president’s office, back to their office.
Moments later, a convoy of vehicles suspected to be conveying new security personnel drove into the Government House.
It could not be ascertained if the suspended governor was still in his residence. A source said the governor was not reachable.
The state or emergency declared by the president has already generated so much heat in the state, with many saying that the president lacked the constitutional powers to remove an elected governor from office.
