All is now set for the 2023 edition of the family picnic, annually organised by Diplomats’Assembly Church, Port Harcourt.
The event which is held during the Easter Holiday is targeted at promoting family bonding. It is an event where parents and children gather to have a good time.
Speaking with TNN in an exclusive interview, the former vice president of the Men’s Fellowship of the Church, Mr. Victor Osakwe explained that the family picnic is a time for refreshment, but most importantly, family bonding.
He continued that, “in our church, we believe that if a family stays together, it is easy to win all battles. We know how the world is today, by engaging in events like this we believe that we can overcome all obstacles.

“The Bible says that one will chase one thousand, two can put ten thousands to flight. That’s exactly what we are doing today.”
On what to expect in the ongoing picnic at the Church premises, Osakwe said, “lots of games, lots of fun, food most importantly, food. For me, I’ve been drafted into a particular house, but I have made it open that for today, I want to be adopted to any house that has alot of food.”
He further gave kudos to the senior pastor of the church, Pastor Emmanuel Ogbechi, the committee in charge of organising the event and all who gave their time, resources and self in the planning.
