A top chieftain of the APC in Bayelsa State and member of the governing council of University of Uyo, Chief Reuben Clifford Wilson, is now a special adviser to the Director-General, Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on community engagement and rural mobilization in the south-south.
Wilson, known for his role in grassroots mobilization during the 2023 election for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a former Niger Delta freedom fighter and also leads the Pastor Reuben Initiative For Good Leadership and Accountability, PRIFGLA.
As the south south coordinator of The Asiwaju Group, TAG, Wilson mobilized support for Tinubu across the south south and played a key role in sustaining the APC in his home state, Bayelsa, before the governor, Senator Douye Diri joined with his supporters.
Uzodimma, in recognizing him for the appointment, said it was “in recognition of your demonstrated commitment, leadership capacity, and dedication to the vision and objectives of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
“In this capacity, you shall provide strategic guidance on community engagement, grassroots mobilisation, and stakeholder relations within the South-South geopolitical zone in support of the attainment of the organisation’s objectives.”
The appointment letter which was personally signed by the Imo State governor said “in the discharge of your duties, you shall be responsible for providing strategic advice to the Director-General on community engagement and rural mobilisation matters within the South-South geopolitical zone;
“Monitoring developments and emerging issues within the region and advising the leadership on appropriate policy and operational responses and facilitating high-level stakeholder engagement and maintaining liaison with community leaders, traditional institutions, civil society organisations, and other relevant bodies.”
Wilson will also be expected to play the role of “supporting the development of strategies, programmes, and initiatives aimed at enhancing grassroots participation and public support for the objectives of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and also performing such other advisory and related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director-General.
The letter added that “you are expected to discharge your responsibilities with integrity, diligence, professionalism, and loyalty, and to conduct yourself in a manner that promotes and protects the reputation and interests of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.”
