The House of Representatives member from Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency, of Cross River State, Dr Alex Egbona, has sang the praises of the vice president, Senator Kashim Shettima, as he turns 59.
Egbona, who described the vice president as a worthy friend of his constituency, noted that Shettima was not just a humble personality, but also someone with the milk of human kindness, who has been serving the country selflessly.
In a statement on Tuesday, the lawmaker said “I lack words to describe this worthy leader of our time. His Excellency, Senator Shettima is not just humble and human, he is a leader with character and finesse.
“It is because of his loyalty that Mr President has been able to pilot the affairs of the country in peace. We have not heard of cracks in The Presidency because we have a supportive and an affable vice president who is always there to see his boss succeed.
“On his birthday today, my constituents are proud to call the vice president their friend. We cherish the friendship we share with him and do pray for God to be with him, preserve him and give him good health.
“Our heart desire for him is that God should increase him in wisdom and knowledge, and grant him all his heart desires as he moves to the next chapter of his life in good health. May God be with Mr vice president.”
The Cross River legislator said it was a privilege for him to have Shettima as a friend, saying that “it is one thing for you to see someone as your friend; it is another thing for the person to also see you as his friend.
“The vice president does not only see me as his friend, he sees my constituents as his friends. My people are honoured to equally see him as their own and will continue to cherish this shared friendship.”
