The Director, National Youth Service Corps NYSC, North West Area Office II, Sokoto, Mr. Anthony Nzoka, has urged the 2025 Batch C corps members deployed to Rivers State to be security conscious.
Nzoka also stressed on the need for the corps members to dress modestly in their place of primary assignment and build meaningful relationships.
He gave this charge during his visit to the permanent orientation camp Nonwa-Gbam Tai, where he encouraged them to work diligently and selflessly so that their impact can be felt positively.
His words, “be intentional in acquiring a skill and be ready to provide effective leadership in your places of primary assignment, because leadership come to those who are ready and prepared for it.
“Use the opportunity of the service year to build bridges of national unity and integration through meaningful relationships that can endure for a lifetime.
“Be conscientious in the discharge of your duties as may be assigned to you by your employer. Be security conscious, respect the culture and tradition of the people of your host community, dress properly, and decently, be accountable to your fellow corps members, abhor the abuse of social media and not engage in useless expedition.”
Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, had informed the director that the corps members we well-behaved, passionate and willing to make positive impacts at the camp and in their places of primary assignment.
He described them as one of the best set of corps members in recent times in the State, even as he commended Nzoka for his commitment, dedication to the growth of the NYSC.
The director was entertained by the NYSC cultural dance and a Man O’ War display.
