Bayelsa CP Orders Tighter Security

The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Iyamah Daniel Edebor has ordered tighter security across Area Commands and Divisional headquarters in the State.

a strategic security briefing with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Tactical Units, and other senior officers of the command.

This is coming as insecurity has worsened across the country, although Bayelsa is adjudged as one of the most peaceful states in the nation.

The meeting focused on strengthening operational efficiency, improving public trust, and reinforcing proactive policing across the state.

During the briefing, the CP directed officers to deepen community engagement by fostering closer collaboration with residents and stakeholders.

He emphasized that people friendly policing, respect for human rights, and prompt response to public concerns remained essential to effective law enforcement and sustainable peace.

He charged all commanders to beef up security in the nooks and crannies of the state to ensure the safety of all residents.

He further urged officers to adopt intelligence-led strategies, visibility patrols, and maintain high vigilance.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Musa Mohammed, the police boss said the command remained committed to sustaining the proactive policing strategies and ensuring citizens enjoyed peace and security across the state.

He urged members of the public to continue to support the police with timely and credible information to strengthen crime prevention and maintain peace and order across the state.
