Unanimously, elders, youths and women leaders of the African Democratic Congress ADC, in Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State, has nominated and adopted Mr Ojiegbe Onyekachi, popularly known as Atiku, as the party’s consensus candidate for the state house of assembly, Omuma constituency.
The stakeholders pledged their unwavering loyalty to ensure Ojiegbe’s emergence in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.



They expressed confidence in him, insisting that he has the capacity, vision and fully committed to serve the people and provide purposeful representation.
The ADC Omuma stakeholders described their sole consensus candidate as a true leader, burden bearer, advocate, best choice and better representative for the good of the people and land.
Ojiegbe’s endorsement took place on Tuesday, during a well attended stakeholders meeting, where a motion for his adoption was moved by the ADC Deputy Vice Chairman in the LGA, Mr. Godswill Samuel Nweke, and seconded by the LGA youth leader, Mr. Okere Enyeribe.
This was revealed in a statement made available to TNN on Thursday by the Omuma ADC Chairman, Hon. Felix Ekpendu, first democratically elected chairman of Omuma LGA, Chief Emmanuel Opurum, the Chairman, Elders Council, Chief Jude Ubani, Elders Council -Elder Samuel Nweke, Elder Secondus Nweke and LGA secretary, Hon. Prince Mbonu Ndubuisi.
At the meeting, all ward chairmen, ward youth leaders, women leaders, LGA executive and party leadership declared their resolve to throw their weight behind Ojiegbe.
The LGA party stakeholders also assured the candidate of their full support and determination to rally behind him to ensure victory in his assembly bid.
According to the statement, “the African Democratic Congress in Omuma Local Government Area on Tuesday, the 12th of May 2026, unanimously adopted and nominated Hon. Ojiegbe Onyekachi (Atiku) as the sole consensus candidate of the party for the Rivers State House of Assembly Omuma state Constituency, in the 2027 general election.
“This decision reflects the confidence of the party leadership in his capacity, vision, and commitment to serve the people and provide purposeful representation.
“The motion for the adoption of Hon. Ojiegbe Onyekachi (Atiku) as a consensus candidate was moved by the ADC Deputy Vice Chairman in the LGA, Hon. Godswill Samuel Nweke, and seconded by the LGA Youth Leader, Hon. Okere Enyeribe.
“The meeting was attended by all ward chairmen, all ward youth leaders, all ward women leaders, all the LGA executive, and party leadership, all of whom gave their full support to the resolution.”
