Fubara: We’re Intentional About Support For NYSC

The Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration’s support to the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, in the state.

Fubara who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the NYSC Rivers State Governing Board, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, gave this reaffirmation on Friday, during the swearing in ceremony of the 2026 Batch A Stream 1 corps members deployed to the state.

The governor assured corps members that the ongoing renovation and facilities upgrade embarked upon by his administration would be completed in record time.

He also promised that his administration would put in place new infrastructure to accommodate the increasing number of corps population being deployed to the state.

His words, ” the governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured that his administration will remain steadfast, resolute, and intentional in supporting the programmes and activities of the NYSC Scheme in the State.

“No nation can develop and be great without harnessing the potentials of its youth and leaders of tomorrow.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, praised the governor for his commitment to construct a new 1000 capacity hostel accommodation for both boys and girls in camp.

Oleghe revealed that a total of 2638 corps members made up of 1007 males and 1631 females had so far completed their registration and have been successfully registered, while over 300 of them are yet to complete their registration.

The administration of Oath was carried out by Justice Chika, who represented the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Chibuzor Amadi.
