A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, in Rivers State, Mr. Gabriel Amaewhule Chukwu, has vehemently condemned the defection of 27 members of the state House of Assembly, from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, to the APC.
Chukwu, in an exclusive interview with TNN, frowned at the action of the lawmakers, asking why they did not consult their constituencies before dumping their party.

“This is not a surprise because this is an underground work and they have been having this underground work for long.”
“Tony is receiving them tomorrow, so the APC is very ready, the caretaker committee is ready to accommodate them, but let it be on record that I am not in support of such absolvation, including the dissolution of the APC executives, it’s Tinubu’s handwork, I am not in support and will never be in support.

Chukwu also accused the immediate past governor of the state, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, of masterminding the defection, even as he urged political office holders to represent the electorates well, give them dividends of democracy away from stomach infrastructure.
“This is Wike’s arithmetic, it’s his work, so the APC, those who want to follow them, let them carry on, let them continue but the consequences is coming.”
