Rivers Community Mourns As Chief Security Officer Is Killed

Eneka Clan in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has been thrown into mourning following the demise of the Chief Security Officer, Mr. Henry Njor.
Natives, Residents and stakeholders of the clan have described Njor’s death as shocking, unfortunate and disheartening.
They expressed bitterness that the CSO who they said has been working tireless with other stakeholders to ensure security and safety of natives and residents died in active service to the clan.
Njor, a native of Rumuoji Community in Eneka, was reportedly hit by bullet under unclear circumstances at the Government Secondary School Eneka, on Thursday, while making efforts to ensure that students who finished their senior secondary school exams conducted themselves orderly, as well as, depart to their various homes.
TNN learnt that while in the line of that duty, a gun shot was heard and he fell to the ground.
The CSO who was discovered to have gunshot injuries was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Details of the incident is still sketchy but the Chairman of the Eneka Community Development Committee ECDC, Mr. Chima Wosu, in an exclusive interview assured our correspondent that the matter would be thoroughly investigated.
Wosu also confirmed that the Police had been informed about the incident.
Also speaking, the Director General of Eneka Today, Mr. Maxwell Onuma, explained the incident as unfortunate and disheartening.
Onuma added that “we have lost a gallant young man in active service, serving the clan but as you can see, we have no question to ask God.”
Meanwhile, the Eneka Youth President, Mr. Larry Chigonum Chukwu, has announced that on Monday, Eneka Youth Congress in conjunction with Eneka Today Media, would lead her youths on a condolence visit to the family of the late CSO.
