A foremost Niger Delta mass mobilization organization, Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in Niger Delta region MOSIEND, has charged security agencies against fomenting troubles in Rivers State.

MOSIEND also commended the state governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara for the appointment of the Caretaker Committee Chairmen for the 23 local government areas of the state.

The leadership of the pan Niger Delta group in a statement by its acting chairman, MOSIEND Eastern Zone, Evang. Emmanuel Gibson, also applauded youths of the state for standing firm to defend democracy and allowing the will of the people to prevail.

The Niger Delta group thanked Fubara for “taking the bold steps by defending democracy in the state and ensuring that the three tiers of government is been protected from abuse and manipulation from political officer holders who are applying a whole side syndrome.

“We also commend Rivers people for coming out in their numbers to ensure that the three tiers of government, the local government areas are protected from satanic forces and evil claws of political vampires who has cultivated the sit tight mentality to power.”

The group urged the youths to maintain peace, law and order as they defend the democracy at the grassroot level, describing the newly inaugurated caretaker chairmen as seasoned politicians, grass rooters and astute administrators.

“Rivers State is for Rivers People, Rivers State is not for one infinitesimal thieves who feel they can use the instrument of the governance to stay on to power, neglecting the ethos and principle of democracy.

“Democracy have come to stay, everybody should embrace it, it is an aberration that one person will want to extend their stay through the illegal House of Assembly members that the law does not even recognize. For the mere fact that they have decamped, their seats are now declared vacate.”

The Niger Delta group insisted that “it is not the right of the police to give Rivers people their own local government chairmen, as it is the sole right of Rivers people only.

“We commend the new CTC on their deserved appointment and urge them to probe the outgone local government Chairmen across the 23 LGAs on their activities for the past three years in office.

“We also appeal to the outgone chairmen not to over-heat the polity, but should remain quiet and support the new caretakers to succeed in office.”
