A youth leader in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr. Chimenem Bobo Worlu, has charged the state Police command to ensure justice for new born baby who was buried by suspected yahoo boys.
Recall that about a week ago, 12 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested for allegedly burying a new born baby at Andoni Waterfront, Eagle Island, Port Harcourt.
The youth leader appealed to the police not to succumb to any form of pressure, rather investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure culprits are made to face the full wrath of the law.
Worlu gave this charge following the alarm raised by one Alhaji Orlu Ibrahim Nyekachi, of a purported plan to truncate justice.
Nyekachi, a resident of Eagle Island, from Nkpolu-Oroworukwo Community in Port Harcourt LGA, claimed that, “available information to me is that some powerful people in the society are planning so much, putting efforts, putting all resources and pressure on the Police to release those suspected yahoo boys that are suspected to have buried a child in Eagle Island, Port Harcourt.”
In an interview, Nyekachi said, “I am calling on the Police since they have been professional in this case, since the matter began they have been professional, that they should keep it up, be professional and diligent in their job, that they should please not yield to the pressure from the powerful men of the society.
“They should do a thorough job and carry out investigation, since the child blood is crying for justice, I still have confidence in the Police to make sure that justice is done to that child because the child is crying for justice and we will all put our hands to see that the child gets justice.”
On his part, Worlu described the incident as cruel, gruesome and absolute murder. He explained in an exclusive interview with TNN that, “it pains my heart, I am very much bothered about the level of insecurity and fraudulent activities in the society.
“This is unbelievable, a new born baby? Jesus Christ! how did we lose it? How did we get here? No compassion. For me, there is no justification for that, none at all, this is wickedness of the highest order, man inhumanity to man, I don’t care who they are, what reason they have, if found guilty they should face the full wrath of the law, they must. I trust that the Rivers State Police Command will see to it that the law takes its full course.
“This is evil. I hear people blame it on unemployment, my dear, unemployment is not a reason for anyone to commit a crime, go contrary to the law, talk more of taking the life of another, there are thousand and one vocational skills, learn one, trade, there is no justification for this, none, they have to go in for it if found guilty, this is murder, period.”
