A former militant leader and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, Pastor Reuben Wilson is excited that Nigeria’s president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is back to the country, hale, hearty and ready for the task of leading Africa’s most populated country.
Wilson who coordinated campaigns for Tinubu’s election in all parts of the south south said in an interview that all those who wished Tinubu death had been put to shame.
He said one of the best things to happen to Nigeria was the emergence of Tinubu as president-in-waiting, noting that Nigeria would experience a total turn-around under Tinubu.
Wilson said: “I was happy when I saw our president-elect alight from the lane and touched the Nigerian soil. Before now, people had said that Tinubu was very sick and would not be able to come back to assume duties as president.
“Conveyors of bad news spread all kinds of fake news about Tinubu who merely went to go and rest after a hectic campaign period and the election that followed. I was been involved in the campaigns; so I know what he went through.
“I mobilised supporters in the south-south under the banner of my group, Pastor Reuben Initiative for Good Leadership and Accountability, PRIFGLA. There was no part of the south south that we did not take the message of Tinubu.
“I did all of that because I believe in the capacity and leadership acumen of Tinubu as one man that will turn things around in this country and I believe that from May 29 when he will be sworn-in, Nigeria and Nigerians will begin to see better days.”
He said considering what Tinubu did while serving as governor in Lagos State, he was confident that the APC national leader will do much more for the entire country.
According to him, “Tinubu is someone we can trust, someone we can hold accountable, someone who knows how to revive dead situations. That was why I put in my energy and resources and worked to ensure his victory and I am happy that he is now fully ready for the task ahead.”
