As they get ready to report at their places of primary assignment, corps members posted to Rivers State have been told to give their best in serving their fatherland.

The sole administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ekwe Ibas (rtd), gave this charge on Tuesday, at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai, during the closing ceremony of 2025 Batch A Stream I orientation course for corps members deployed to the state.

Ibas who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman NYSC State Governing Board, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, also urged them to be patriotic so as to leave a lasting legacy that will stand the test of time in their host communities.

The SOLAD further charged the 2025 Batch A Stream 1 corps members to work hard and selflessly to meet the desired goals and aspirations of the people of the state.

He also assured the corpers that the people of the state would treat them with superlative hospitality and goodwill which he said will make them not to think of returning to their home states after the service year.

In his address, the state NYSC coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe told Ibas that the corpers performed excellently well in all their undertakings despite the challenges of the regimented life in camp.

Oleghe noted that the corps members were ready for the next phase of the scheme’s cardinal programme, where they will make positive impacts in education, primary healthcare, agriculture, and rural infrastructure.

He further appealed to stakeholders, community leaders and Corps Employers to provide the corpers with suitable accommodation and welfare incentives that will motivate them for optimal performance.
