Saraki To Onor: You’re Truly Ready To Become Governor • As Abi/Yakurr People Hail Onor

A former president of the senate, Senator Bukola Saraki has said that Senator Sandy Onor, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Cross River State is truly ready to govern his state, considering the depth of his knowledge of the solutions to one of the major challenges facing the country.

 

 

 

Saraki said this in Abuja on Wednesday during the public presentation of Onor’s book entitled Foundations of Nigeria’s Unity. Represented by a former governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatai Ahmed in his capacity as chairman of the event, Saraki said it was important for all leaders and politicians to engage on those things that will unite the country.

Saraki, a major stakeholder in the PDP commended Onor and expressed the hope that he would win the 2023 election so that he can utilise all that he has got, for the good of Cross River State.

 

 

 

His bosom friend and member representing the people of Abi/Yakurr in the House of Representatives, Dr Alex Egbona who was also at the book presentation said “ I always know that Prof Sandy Onor is a star and his star will never dim. There is so much inside him that the world is yet to see. I commend him for this lofty intellectual project.

“Just like the Senate President said and as confirmed by virtually all the speakers, Prof Sandy Onor is a warehouse of intellect and wisdom. He is truly a donation to the country. This book is a clear evidence of the depth of his knowledge of the issues bedevilling us a country. I encourage our leaders to take time and read it.”

 

 

Also at the event, Onor was crowned a fellow of the Historical Society of Nigeria, HSN. In his speech after the investiture by Nigeria’s oldest professional body, Onor expressed appreciation to the Rivers State governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for showing friendship at all times.

He said “anybody who wants to learn how to be a true friend should start from Nyesom Wike.” Onor also appreciated the senate president, two former governors of his state-Clement Ebri and Liyel Imoke, Senator Gershom Bassey, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe and many others, for standing by him and being present at the book presentation.
