At the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt on Thursday, women under the aegis of Rivers Women Unite For Sim called for the immediate reinstatement of the suspended governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
The women who gathered in their hundreds for a prayer session also sued for sustained peace in the state and prayed for God’s intervention in states like Benue, Borno, Plateau, Nasarawa, Yobe and Zamfara.

They lamented that those states were ravaged by insurgency and banditry and prayed for total restoration of peace in the troubled states.
The women emphasized that insecurity in any part of Nigeria poses a threat to the safety and progress of the entire nation.
The group commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for what they described as her humanitarian interventions, particularly donation of relief materials to displaced persons in affected regions, describing her efforts as a noble demonstration of leadership and compassion.
While expressing gratitude for the return of political stability in the state, the women offered prayers for the complete restoration and strengthening of democratic governance.
Further, they encouraged citizens to continue to pray and collaborate for the advancement and unity of the State.
The women also gave thanks to God for the visible peace and renewed spirit of togetherness among political leaders in the state, praying that such unity would be sustained for the greater good of the people.
They reaffirmed their commitment to sustained intercession and acknowledged that it is God’s presence and guidance that has inspired their mission to stand in the gap for the state and the entire nation.
