Rivers SOLAD Hails NYSC On National Integration Efforts

The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ekwe Ibas (rtd), has commended the state National Youth Service Corps NYSC, for its achievements in the areas of unifying and integrating citizens.

Ibas described the NYSC as a vehicle for nation building and development, and urged Nigerians to be proud of the scheme.

The SOLAD stated this on Friday, at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam in the Tai Local Government Area of the state, when he presided over the swearing in ceremony of the 2025 Batch A Stream 1 Corps Members deployed to the state.

Ibas who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, commended the management of the NYSC for their commitment, dedication and hardwork.

He also hailed the management for improving the operations of the scheme to meet contemporary technology needs of the 21st century graduate youths.

Further, Ibas charged the corpers to, “repay Nigerians the trust reposed in you as the successor generation to restore the country to the part of honour, dignity and prosperity.

On his part, the state NYSC Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe, enjoined the to make honest and patriotic sacrifices that will engender rapid economic growth and peace in the country.

In his address, Oleghe commended the corpers for demonstrating high sense of commitment to adapt to the rigors of the orientation exercise and realize its objectives.

A total of 2018 corps members comprising 752 males and 1266 females were sworn in at the occasion by Margaret Opara who represented the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi.
