How Local Vigilante Nabbed Suspected Killer Of Rev Sister

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Mr. Kelvin Okoro for allegedly killing a reverend sister, Miss Maureen Wecheonwu, who he was owing a huge sum of money.

Okoro was arrested on Thursday, by the local vigilante group known as ONELGA Security and Planning Advisory Committee OSPAC, in Aluu Community of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The OSPAC Commander, Mr. Kingsley Wali, led his personnel to the suspect’s hideout where he was apprehended over the incident that occured on March 26, 2025.

Okoro, said to be a native of Oduoha Ogbakiri Community in Emohua Local Government Area of the state, was accused of absconding with the deceased money and other personal belongings, after her murder.

He was said to have lured the reverend sister to a lonely place in pretence of discussing the huge debt he was owing her which he was unable to pay, where he allegedly killed her and fled the community.

The Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Grace Iringe Koko while confirming the incident said, “yes, I can confirm the arrest of the suspect.

“The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Olugbenga Adepoju has directed the transfer of the suspect and case file to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID Port Harcourt for discreet investigation.”
