Overwhelmed by the reconciliation of the suspended governor, Siminalayi Fubara and his Oga, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Tony Chidugam Okocha, has eulogised the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Okocha appreciated Tinubu for restoring what he described as lasting peace in Rivers State.
While describing the FCT Minister-Wike as a wonderful leader, the APC chair assured the president that the people of the state were happy with him.
This was revealed in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Vincent Gbosi, on Sunday, where Okocha made this submission on his return from the federal capital territory after a week-long national assignment.
Okocha said, “It is now evident and very clear to all that all along, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had meant well for Rivers State, and for Rivers people.
“When Mr President intervened in the political crisis in the State, a lot of people who didn’t see what the President saw then were coming up with different analysis based on their own assumptions.
“We knew as a party, the APC in Rivers State, that Mr President had all it takes to handle the situation, and we trusted his wisdom, and his experience to be able to resolve the crisis in Rivers State for the interest of Rivers people.
“The end result which everyone is witnessing now is that the much needed peace has returned to Rivers State through the commitment and untiring efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
He noted that “we are grateful and thankful to Mr President for his demonstrated love for our beloved State.
“The dexterity with which the issues were handled and finally resolved by Mr President is out of this world.
“As of today, well meaning Rivers people are happy with the final outcome of what most people never believed could amount to anything.”
When asked about the role played by Wike, Okocha stated that, “His Excellency, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is a Wonderful Leader. The peace wouldn’t have been easy to achieve if the FCT Minister had not been a lover of peace.
“That is exactly what I meant when l said that he is a Wonderful Leader.
“His efforts towards returning peace to Rivers State underscores his commitment towards the continuous growth, economic stability, and all-round development of the State.
“We’re talking about someone whose overall interest is that Rivers State should move forward and occupy her rightful place in the comity of States in Nigeria.”
