Ahead of the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State, Forward Rivers Youth Movement, has urged delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state and all concerned stakeholders, to support the emergence of Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George-Kelly as the party’s candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial election.
The group, which is a pro-good governance organisation with strong socio-political analytical base, assured that the emergence of George-Kelly will guarantee continuity in the path of development.

According to the coordinator of the group, Kalada C.D Jumbo, supporting the governorship aspiration of George-Kelly will bring about continuous growth of the state, adding that they will stop at nothing to make it a reality.
Jumbo in a statement by his media aide, Charles Onwuka, said, “in the words of Lester R. Brown- ‘today, more than ever, we need political leaders who can see the big picture, who understand the relationship between the economy and its environmental support systems’ and we say that it aptly defines the enigma, Dr. Dakorinama Alabo-George-Kelly, an aspirant for the position of governor of Rivers State under the People Democratic Party.

“It is with profound joy that youths and corporate organisations received the news that Dr. George-Kelly finally accepted the call for him to aspire to be the governor of Rivers State come 2023. His coming into the race for the Brick House inspires the promise of togetherness that he is known for. He is one with a track record of human development and as can be seen across the state, very committed to its infrastructure. The state has one of its finest in the race.
“Dr. George is a technocrat per excellence and politician with a heart for quality service. He is one that will be accountable to the state and as a grassroot centered politician would encourage rapid rural development and participation in governance. He has been tested on many fronts and has his imprints on legacy projects. Stories abound of his avowed philantrophic gestures that cut across the State and beyond.”

Forward Rivers Youth Movement further urged the delegates to, “consider the continuous growth of the State and vote George-Kelly to fly the party’s flag as structures are in place in the 23 LGA with the aim of galvanizing support for George Kelly. George Kelly is the heartbeat of the youths in Rivers State and we will stop at nothing to make his project a reality.”
