Rivers Community Engages Security Chiefs, Activates Safety Measures

As the Yuletide season hits its peak, there are a indications that insecurity will be on the increase around the globe. This has motivated leaders of Woji Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state to come up with measures to ensure the safety of lives and properties in the area now and beyond.
The measures were put in place when the community had her Security Summit at Woji Town Hall which saw various security personnel and community leaders in attendance.

In his remarks, Paramount Ruler of Woji Community, HRH Amb. Emeka Ihunwo was pleased at the turn out of the summit. He spoke extensively on the essence and resolution on security matters in Woji Community.
According to the Nyenweali, “All streets in Woji Community should have security gates so as to have one way in and out and active security guards like Elitor Street, Ogbatai, among others. All streets in Woji Community must maintain its original name as assigned by the community if there be need for change of name due process must be followed.

“All streets in Woji Community should set up a Vigilante Group which members must undergo screening with the Woji Estate Police Division and identify with Woji Community leadership for proper recognition. There should be security neighborhood assistance/support from captains of industries and well to do individuals”.
He called on government at all levels to help and ensure that the police has the enabling environment to work by providing them with equipment and other security accessories.

Rivers Community Nabs Two Suspected Kidnappers

Eze Ihunwo further disclosed that Woji Community will continue to render unalloyed support at all times to Governor Nyesom Wike led administration and the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Hon. Prince Solomon Abel Eke to ensure that the state becomes a safe haven for all and sundry.
While wishing the attendees good tidings during the festive period, the Paramount Ruler averred that security is a collective effort, stressing that families should be careful of information gathering and sharing and be conscious of their environment and report suspicious movements around their neighborhood to security personnel.
Highlights were security lectures on personal precautionary measures by the security personnel on ground and group photographs.
