Protest Rocks Rivers LGA Over Leadership Tussle

The leadership tussle in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, have taken another dimension.
This is as some youths of the LGA marched to government house Port Harcourt, on a protest against the immediate past Caretaker Committee Chairman of the council, Marvin Yobana.
The aggrieved youths took to the street on the peaceful demonstration with placards which read, “we regret Marvin three months as CTC.” “Marvin allow development to strive in Khana.” “Governor Siminalayi Fubara call Marvin to order.” “Marvin allow development to strive in Khana.”
In an interview with newsmen, the convener of Khana peoples Progressive, Mr Baranu Neebari, accused the former CTC chair of imposing himself on the people as the leader when there is an already existing leader in charge of the council.
Neebari insisted that Yobana’s actions were causing division among simplified family in the area.
According to him, “We are calling for orderliness in Khana Local Government area. Orderliness in the Simplified family in khana. The last CTC chairman of Khana, Marvin Yorbana has refused to leave with the reality that he is no more the chairman. There is a new chairman in khana and he is no other than, Chief Honorable Martin Nwigbo and Marvin should stop causing disunity among Simplified people in khana.
“We are here to registered our grievances today to ask governor Siminalayi Fubara to call Marvin Yobana to order, he stated”.
Also speaking, a woman leader, Hope Zinabari Williams noted that they have a leader, and urged Fubara to call Yobana to order.
“Today we are here because there is a lot going on in Khana, we might not really begin to start mentioning things but the whole reason why we are here is because we want the governor to please call Ambassador Marvin Yobana to order. Khana is one and the cause why we are here is because we want to deliver Sim come 2027. Khana is united aside of what Marvin is doing.
“We cannot have a leader and Marvin is coming in as a leader, he is diving us and we don’t want that, she stated”.
