Overwhelmed natives and residents of Cross River State are full of praises for the senator representing the Southern Senatorial District, Asuquo Ekpenyong, for providing essential healthcare services to his constitutes.
They also expressed their gratitude to the senator for enhancing security by facilitating the construction of a police station in Odukpani Local Government Area, aimed at providing a safer environment for residents.

According to natives and residents of Southern Senatorial District, Ekpenyong’s initiative underscores his commitment to improving the well-being and safety of his constitutes and demonstrates his dedication to supporting law enforcement efforts in the area.
In an appreciation letter to the senator, Mr Francis Okpo Bassey, from Creek Town in Odukpani LGA described the senator as a true leader, a blessing to the entire state and its people and the best choice ever and always.
Bassey said Ekpenyong’s, “proactive leadership is in the abode of the heart, a fat heart not for self but in the well-being of the people governed, a real sense of democracy.
“Sir, it is right to say that you are a true leader not by position but in works.
“Your act of benevolence is so resounding that your impact is felt in oblivious of no one abinitio.”
He further said “a very big thank you in your swift effort to realistify in its continuous sustenance the season of sweetness.
“Permit me to say that you are a blessing to our dear state and the best choice ever and always.”
Also speaking, Mr Nelson Otubara said Ekpenyong’s initiative was life-changing and expressed the belief that “the best is yet to unravel.”
Otubara prayed God to “bless distinguish senator, Ntufam Asuquo Ekpenyong for his selfless leadership.”
In a message of appreciation, a respondent who spoke on the grounds of anonymity eulogised Ekpenyong for bringing hope and health to 4,422 residents through his medical mission in just 22 months.
According to the speaker, Ekpenyong’s initiative have made quality healthcare accessible to those who need it most, noting that by bringing quality care to underserved areas, the senator has erected pillars of health and hope, ensuring families thrive.”
Ekpenyong’s three transformative medical outreaches are part of his commitment to supporting lives as some very serious and complicated cases that required surgery were successfully attended to.
The third free medical mission reached 4,000 individuals across the Southern Senatorial District, providing free consultations, treatments and medications in communities like Calabar South, Odukpani and Biase.
The CSDON/WSF outreach of March 2024, delivered 220 medical procedures, including critical interventions to residents in areas such as Akpabuyo and Calabar Municipal.
In October 2024, the medical mission performed 202 surgeries benefiting patients in remote locations like Bakassi LGA and Akampa.
His people thanked him for prioritizing the health and well-being of his constitutes through his accessible medical services and innovative social programs that have reduced the barriers to essential services, reaching the most vulnerable populations.
The beneficiaries said the senator has been compassionate in his representation, stating the need for citizens to be healthy in order to be productive.
They poured encomium on Ekpenyong, noting that any effort at achieving development in any society would come to waste if the health of the people was not adequately factored into it.
The people of the Southern Senatorial District revealed that the senator gave them hope through the provision of free and accessible quality healthcare services which they said is paramount.
