A former ward vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State, Mr. Okey Waka has descended on a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode for describing the PDP as a vagabond.

Fani-Kayode, a member of the APC had said spoken about the PDP in derogatory terms in a recent interview on national television. For example, he had said that the PDP had destroyed the country before the APC took over and that if allowed to win in 2023, the PDP would further destroy the country.

Speaking with TNN, Waka said “is it the PDP that has brought the calamity in this country? The answer is No. APC promised us heaven and earth and you can see in this government, bringing wars bringing crises, bringing killings in Nigeria.

“PDP is a party that every process carried is democratic and they want to stay on it democratically. If PDP has internal crisis, and they have a process of resolving, they can take their crisis at hand and resolve it immediately. If it’s democratic, it’s basically democratic.

“You can see what is happening between Atiku and Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, it is unfair for that thing to take place and that is what Nyesom Wike is trying to bring down equity, fair play and justice should be there. By then, we can achieve democracy.

“You can’t take every position and say we are one. No. It is no longer Democracy. You take one, give the other person one. Take this, give them person one. That is democracy, it’s a process.”

Waka also added that he does not think it’s even a party thing. He said, “We need somebody to rescue Nigeria and Nigerians should take stance. This is the time to take a stance.”

He called on Nigerians to support the ambition of Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, to enable him move the country from a consuming to a productive nation.

“I think that is the best alternative for us. If he has better ideas for that, I think that can grow Nigeria. That can make a better Nigeria.”
