A renewed call has been made for the revival of the nation’s moral values as a solution to the various challenges currently facing Nigeria.
Speaking in Port Harcourt, Emeritus Professor Otonti Nduka emphasized that reinforcing positive national values is essential to addressing pressing issues such as insecurity, corruption, election malpractice, injustice, and other societal problems.
According to him, “maintaining positive national values is a panacea to issues such as insecurity, embezzlement of funds, election rigging, injustice and other issues affecting the nation.”
Nduka, who chairs the Board of Trustees of the Otonti Nduka Foundation for Values Education, advocated for a National Conference scheduled to take place in Port Harcourt on November 13, 2025.
He stressed that the forum would provide a platform to deliberate on the moral and ethical decline affecting both Rivers State and the country at large.
He also revealed that prominent Nigerians known for their integrity and service such as Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, and Bishop Matthew Kukah, are expected to participate in the conference, aimed at charting a new course based on national values and ethical leadership.
