Worried by the increase in the rate of unemployment in Nigeria, a retired Deputy Director, Finance and Accounts of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, His Royal Majesty, King James Sarakiri, has charged corps members deployed to Rivers State to be wealth creators and not job seekers.

He gave this charge on Tuesday at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area of the state.

Sarakiri, who is also know as the Alei II of Aleibiri kingdom in Bayelsa State, enjoined the corps members to choose the path of skill acquisition, which he said can launch them into wealth creation rather than become job seekers that comes with lots of frustration at the end of the service year.

Sarakiri told the corps members that they need to get their “acts right in order for Nigeria to get it right.”

Further, he urged them to build a bright, fruitful and productive future for themselves through discipline, hard work, honesty, and love for one another.

Sarakiri informed the corps members that the measurement of true achievement is in helping others to grow.

He charged them to uplift the lives of members of their host community and invest more in knowledge acquisition in order to make informed choices and decisions in life.

Also, he advised them to plan, have great ideas as well as create room for self-assessment in everything they do in life.

On his part, the state NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, described the visit of the retired deputy director, finance and accounts as a “homecoming.”
