The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Brigadier General OO Nafiu, has charged the Batch C corps members posted to Rivers State to be good ambassadors and represent the scheme well.
Nafiu gave this charge on Tuesday, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, in Tai Local Government Area of the state, where he urged the corps members to make NYSC proud.
The DG charged them to use their actions and inactions to become an ambassador of the scheme’s success story.
He tasked the corps members to reflect deeply on the wording and spirit of the NYSC anthem, urging them to use the opportunity of the service year to make positive impacts on nation building.
Further, the NYSC DG encouraged them to see the regimented lifestyle as a transition from students orientation lifestyle to work ethics mentality, noting that the regimented camp activities are designed to toughen them up and equip them physically, mentally, and emotionally for the challenges of real life experiences.
Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, notified Nafiu that the corps members had been exceptional in their conduct, disciplined and well-behaved since their arrival to camp.
He further commended them and camp officials for displaying high sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties while appreciating the DG and his entourage for choosing Rivers as the first camp to visit in 2025 Batch C orientation course.

The DG was accompanied on the visit by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Caroline Embu, Ag. Director Special Duties, Alhaji Suleman Abdul and Ag. Director South South Area Office II Port Harcourt, Mr. Philip Enaberue.
