My Journey To Excellence Started From Arthur Jarvis Varsity- First Class Law School Graduate

Mr Savior Orok Asuquo, one of the latest class graduates from the Nigerian Law School, has attributed his excellent performance to the foundation that was laid in the classroom at the Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State.

In an interview with TNN over the telephone on Tuesday, Asuquo who also thanked God for the academic feat, noted that from the first day he entered the law school, he had made up his mind to make his parents and the AJU proud.

Saying that he had to study 24/7 to realise his dream of coming out from the law school with a first class, Asuquo said the euphoria of becoming a first class graduate made him go numb for some minutes after he checked his result.

He said: “I am very elated to have graduated from the Nigerian Law School with a first class, such that the euphoria made me numb for some minutes after I checked my result. I feel so happy that this feat made my family and my school proud, which has always been my intention. It feels like truly hard work and determination pays at the end. But in all I give gratitude to God because only God made it possible for me to achieve this feat.”

“I believe that it was just the hand of God upon my life that made me achieve this feat. But I can categorically say that determination and hard work was the major key to achieving this feat, because I went into law school with a plan to graduate with a First-Class and I stuck to my plan, which was basically reading 247 and cutting off all distractions.”

Asuquo who also left AJU with first class honours said passing through the law faculty of the AJU was one of the best things that happened to him. To him, “Arthur Jarvis University is a citadel of solid legal training. My university lecturers are the major contributors that made this feat possible because of the intensive and accurate teaching of the law.

“I can say for sure that because of our prestigious lecturers, we could easily pass through law school having been given a law school standard education right from our university days in preparation for the law school.

“Also, the learning environment and my university’s attitude of rewarding hard work simply showed me that it pays and such encouraged me to do my best in law school which resulted into this wonderful feat.”

In a separate interview, acting vice chancellor of the university, Associate Professor Joe Edet told TNN that one of the unique selling points of AJU was the uniqueness of its law faculty.  “The faculty of law was founded on very strong academic excellence. Students imbibe moral, rounded, and focused discipline.

“So, their exceptional performance in law school was expected, to their glory and glory of the school. Our moot court, law library, lecturers are assets and mentors of the faculty. We are one of the few universities, whose faculty of law has a standard court as a moot court.

“It serves as an icing on our cake, as a young and fast growing university and a motivation to the students and staff of the faculty of law.”

The VC said there was a better future for law students of the institution as there were plans to have law studies administered through technology and AI, which would birth an era of full technological studies in law.
