Knocks For Tinubu’s Wife For Embarrassing Osun Gov

Former presidential candidate Chief Dele Momodu has criticised the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, over a video circulating on social media where she allegedly embarrassed the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, during the tenth coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife.

Momodu, who shared his thoughts on Instagram, said he was shocked that a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God could frown at a governor for praising God. He added that he wondered if she would react the same way if a northern governor were reciting the holy Quran.

He also recalled his personal encounter with the First Lady during the election campaign season. According to him,
“I met Mrs Tinubu at the funeral of Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson inside the holy sanctuary of the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church in Ikeja GRA, Lagos State. She asked me, ‘Bob Dee, you mean you will not campaign for my husband?’ I replied immediately, ‘I cannot ma, I am in a different party.’ Her Excellency was not pleased.”

In the viral video, the First Lady was heard saying, “I am giving you 5 more minutes to finish your speech. The music is enough. That is not what I asked you to do.” But Adeleke continued singing. She returned shortly after and added, “I will turn off the microphone. Stop the music.”

Since the video went viral, it has generated mixed reactions across the media space, with some saying the First Lady overreacted while others believe the governor should have followed protocol
