Jarigbe: The Man The North Must Never Forget

By Umezulike Desmond-cruz.

Politics, in our clime, is seriously becoming irredeemably dirty and nauseating as the day goes by. Unfortunately, the major actors and players of this political chicanery are the people. However, we must be courageous enough to always insist that even in a pool of bad eggs, there should be an exception.

For purpose of clarity, I wish to state quite expressly, that thoughts expressed herein are entirely mine, and does not represent the opinion, take, choice, decision and political inclination of any other person, group or entity politically or otherwise associated to my person.

Harsh Economy: Let’s Not Despair, Lutheran Church Cleric Tells Nigerians

Having indemnified my associates, I dare say, we can actually do better in our politics if we conscientiously engage and empower only those with wit and wisdom, character and charisma, carriage and charism, grace and candour, to lead us, going forward.

In the Northern Senatorial District, it appears the die is cast and there’s a heavy cloud gathering over our heads. Our politics is gradually snowballing into a do-or-die affair, as if losing the election means death, and winning the election means eternal life. Between the candidates of the major political parties, there’s a tremulous frenzy and “paroxysmic” passion bubbling in their hearts to outflank one another. Today in the North, the Knight of Kakum has woken up from his many years of sleep and slumber. At the twilight of his administration, he has decided to turn himself into a rainmaker, promising a torrential downpour on every roof in the North. He’s ready to give rain to the good, the bad and the ugly. Irrespective of political affiliation, tribe and tongue, the knight of kakum appears ready to go to bed with even the worst of all political prostitutes, provided his interest is preserved.

To the people of Ukelle, he has suddenly remembered the super highway he promised them. And upon hearing a rattling sound of a bulldozer carrying out an earthwork on the road, he trembled like a child whose mother has threatened to abandon in the rain. Uncertain about the thought of Ukelle People, he suddenly remembered an imaginary sum of 8billion Naira earmarked for the road Project. Not only did he send emissaries to the Ukelle People to repeat the chorus of old, telling them how he has reserved the best for the last, he also tried to stop the ongoing road rehabilitation facilitated by Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe.

To the people of Bekwarra, whose houses have become so accustomed to the flames and soot oozing from their lanterns, he promised to light up their homes with electricity. When he heard that Jarigbe Agom has supplied enough solar lights to the people of Bekwarra, he immediately ordered for trucks load of Solar Light for the people of the Northern Senatorial District. When he heard that Jarigbe has built schools for different Communities, he immediately remembered SUBEB and charged them to announce immediate commencement of school projects. When he heard that Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe has constructed boreholes for various Communities in the North, he turned his appointees into Manual labourers and charged them to break every available soil in search of water for Communities in the North.

In a bid to win the heart of the people, he suddenly saw the need to appoint every living thing in the North, not even Obanliku that he has perpetually enslaved, did he forget in his appointment galore. Suddenly, the Knight of Kakum has become so generous and magnanimous that one can easily forget how badly he has treated his people over the years. But while the people feast and merry, the North, like the chicken, must never forget the one who plucked its feathers during rainy season. The North must never forget, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, who gave his all for the people. The People of Ukelle must never forget who stood by them when the storm was raging. The People of Bekwarra must never forget the son of their beloved daughter who stood by them when the knight never considered them worthy of any project or meaningful appointment. The people of Ogoja must never forget their son, who is unarguably one of their brightest stars in our political galaxy. The Obudu people must never forget that a good friend is better than a bad brother. The Obanliku people must never forget Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, who gave them light even beyond the impassable mountains of the ranch. The entire people of Yala must remember how fair and kind Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe has been to them.

Onor, Jarigbe Cause Commotion In C’River * Loyalists Abandon Ayade

Like a typical Nigerian guy who lives abroad and comes home only during Christmas to hoodwink innocent ladies with marriage proposal to get in-between their thighs, the people of the North must be careful of the many promises of a man who for over 7years left them drenched and emasculated in the rain.

The North must never forget Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, not because he is a saint nor because he is indispensable.
The North must never forget Jarigbe Agom because to be grateful to good men is the best way to show gratitude and encourage others to become good. Forgetting Jarigbe simply means emboldening ineptitude amongst politicians. The consequences of such action will forever remain unpardonable. It then means that politicians can toy with the people as long as they want and on the Eve of an election, they would run back to the people, romanticize them and still win their hearts. Thereby making the few good Politicians look like fools in the eyes of the world. If the North forgets Jarigbe Agom, the slogan amongst Politicians after 2023 would be “No be by who do projects or work for the people pass, na by who fit deceive the people”.

Jarigbe As Ayade’s Nightmare In C’River North

The North must save the entire state from hearing such slogan. The North must never forget.
