The Commander, Federal Fire Service Calabar, ACF Olomola Olumayowa, has said that she did not confirm any fire outbreak incident in the office of the governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade, in the government house Calabar.
Olumayowa stated this in Calabar while reacting to reports making rounds, alleging her confirmation of a fire incident in Calabar. She said there was no confirmation of any sought, adding that she only attended to the Airtel Telecom Mast Fire incident and has no knowledge about fire outbreak in the government house.

According to her, “I want to state categorically clear, that fire did not engulf any property or building in Government House, Calabar and we did not confirm such. We received a distress call on September 11th, when there was a fire incident at the Airtel Telecom Mast, not Government house.
“We moved immediately and controlled the fire, no damage or property was lost, reports about fire at government house Calabar are false. It was a minor fire incident, involving an Airtel Telecom Mast beside the Government House”, she said.

Recall that there has been news making rounds alleging that Governor Ayade’s office was gutted by fire on Saturday, September 10th, 2022.
Findings also revealed that there was truly no fire at the premises. Our reporter who visited the government house and Airtel Telecom Mast also confirmed that government house Calabar isn’t gutted by fire.
