How Run-Away Murder Suspect Was Nabbed, 13 Days After

Mr Nwalozie Chiwendu who fled after allegedly using cutlass to kill his elder brother, Mr Chidiebere Isaiah, over allegation of witchcraft that hindered his prosperity, has been arrested and handed over to the Rivers State Police command.

The incident which was earlier reported by TNN happened on February 12, 2026, at Umunwacha village in Ofeh Community in Eberi, Omuma Local Government Area of the state.

13 days after, Nwalozie was arrested at Owerrinta, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.

The state Police had launched manhunt on the suspect after the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Irinke-Koko, confirmed the incident, revealing that the suspect used cutlass to machete the victim to death after accusing him of witchcraft.

Irinke-Koko said the victim’s corpse has been retrieved and deposited in the mortuary.

She assured that the suspect would face the full wrath of the law in compliance to the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju.

“Information at my disposal indicates that the suspect used cutlass to machete the victim to death after accusing him (victim) of witchcraft that made him(suspect) not to prosper.

“The corpse has been retrieved, deposited in the mortuary and a manhunt has been launched for the suspect with a view to arresting and bringing him to face the law in compliance to the directive of Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju.”

Pictures of the deceased showed multiple machete cuts all over his body.

The incident was reported to the Police Division in Eberi, Omuma LGA.
