A group under the aegis of National Youth Leadership Congress NYLC, has held its maiden prayer/mobilization rally in support of President Muhammadu Buhari and Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Speaking at the event in Port Harcourt, National President of the body, Dr. Emmanuel Orgwu encouraged members to work as a team as well as make contribution towards winning the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State.
“We must all work for the collective interest of the group and party. Our interest is to capture and recover the Brick House for the APC so that we can remain where we were in 2007. We will fight for APC in Rivers State. We don’t have any hidden agenda but to win election in Rivers State,” Orgwu declared.
He maintained that the ability of the party to do well and excel in 2023 depends on the commitment and dedications of members. “As party members, it is the level of our commitment and dedication that will see us through”
Orgwu reiterated his dismay on any person who would want to stand against Amaechi in 2023. He expressed optimism and a sense of possibilities that the APC would triumph in the next general election across the country.
The national president commended the leadership of NYLC for the passion and drive in the activities of the organization.
Earlier in his address, the leader of NYLC in PHLGA, Chike Enyinda stated that the PHLGA chapter of the NYLC was a child of necessity, saying that people should forget the position they held in the past and think of the present.
According to him, “it is not what you have been in the past but what impact or contribution you can make toward NYLC or APC at the moment. As we lose one person to other parties. Let’s ensure that we bring 100 people into APC.”
He reassured that he would do all he could do to overcome the challenges the party is facing. The PHLGA leader also told them to see how they could solve problems together.
On her part, a former member of RSHA, Victoria Wobo Nyeche stated that in order for the party to get to the next level there were the need for members of the party to constantly gather for prayers.
She said “I am very, very happy that we have gathered here today to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to succeed. Therefore I want to assure you that I will always be with you and to support you with all the resources I have so that APC can get to the desired next level.”
She commended members of NYLC for the Award and honour done her.
Also, a former commissioner for youth in Rivers State, Owene Wonodi told the political party supporters, “do not be worried about the recent defection of some of our members to other political parties. This is because most of them do not understand our party ideology and are not interested in the affairs of the country.”
On his part a chieftain of APC, Elder Chimbiko Chike said that one of the processes of attracting new members to the party is by making the APC constitution available. He said, “I want to use this opportunity to appeal to the leadership of APC to make the political party constitution and manifesto available.”
