Fubara’s Fans Shut Down PH

It has been a hectic day for residents of Port Harcourt, as fans of the governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, shut down most parts of the state capital on Thursday in celebration of the return of the governor, after the emergency rule.

The supporters and fans of the governor took over the roads, drumming, singing and dancing to show appreciation to God for bringing back the governor.

Cripples and old women were not left out. Even when the governor did not show up at the Government House, the people occupied every available space from the main road up the Government House gate.

Their activities caused traffic hiccup around the old Port Harcourt Township area. While some appeared in uniforms, others wore cultural attires.

Former commissioners that served under Fubara, as well as the then speaker, Oko Jumbo, were also sighed at the gate of Government House on Thursday morning, also waiting to receive the governor.

It was not immediately clear when the governor would arrive to resume duties. But the crowd did not appear to be in a hurry to leave until such a time that the governor would arrive.
