Fubara Surrenders Publicly, Accepts Wike’s Humiliation

What used to be a subject of conjecture has now been publicly confirmed: the Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara has accepted the humiliation and flogging by his godfather and minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

He has not only accepted to pack his luggage and leave the Government House next year, he has also accepted another Ikwerre son as the next governor, in line with Wike’s wish.

That’s not all, Fubara, who was smiling like a house boy that had just been brought to the township by his master, as he spoke in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, also announced his membership of Wike’s rainbow coalition.

Looking confused, Wike even referred to the rainbow coalition as a party, before correcting himself to call it properly. Not ending there, Fubara also started campaigning for Kingsley Chinda, as the next governor.

He even said that anyone who loved him and desired to maintain the friendship should also support Chinda, the man that Wike wants as the next governor.

Wednesday announcements by Fubara was his first time of publicly accepting his fate, as a one-term governor since the beginning of the current democratic dispensation. Other governors before him, including Wike, had enjoyed two unbroken terms.

Wike had vowed that for showing disloyalty, he would ensure that Fubara did not return to office as governor.
