Fubara Appoints His Deputy, 8 Others To Tackle Flood In Rivers

As part of efforts to tackle flood disaster in Rivers State, the governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has constituted a 9-man Flood Prevention and Management Committee.
With his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, as the chairman of the committee, Fubara appointed the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo, Honourable Commissioner for Social welfare and Rehabilitation, Chief Ilanmi Arugu, Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Engr Charles Amadi, Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Sam Anya and Commissioner for Special Projects, Dr. Roland Obed Whyte, as members of the committee.
Others are the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mrs. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh and Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Sydney Gbara.
A release by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, revealed that the committee held its inaugural meeting on Monday, in the deputy governor’s office, Government House, Port Harcourt.
It further noted that their next meeting will hold on Friday at 2pm, with the CTC chairmen of the 18 impacted LGAs in attendance.
