Suspended minister of humanitarian affairs, Dr Betta Edu is not returning to her office, even though unconfirmed reports emerged to the effect that the EFFC had cleared her. The president, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has already replaced her with the Nentawe Yilwatda.
Yilwatda’s appointment came on Wednesday, same day the president also sacked the Minister of Women Affairs, Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye; Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John; Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman; Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo; and Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim.
Without wasting time, Tinubu announced the appointment of Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as the new minister of Labour and Employment. Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu was appointed minister of state foreign affairs while Jumoke Oduwole was assigned to the ministry of industry, trade and investment.
Idi Mukhtar Maiha was appointed as the minister of livestock development while Yusuf Abdullahi Ata is the minister of state, housing and urban development.
Suwaiba Said Ahmad as the minister of state, education and Shehu Dikko was appointed as the chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC) which will now take over the duties of the ministry of sports development which was scrapped earlier on Wednesday.
A former minister of sports in the government of Muhammadu Buhari was named special adviser to the president on public communication and orientation.
The fate of the minister of sports, Senator John Owan Enoh was not clear as at Wednesday as there was no announcement of his sack, even though his ministry has been scrapped.
