Family Seeks Justice For Slain Son

The killing of Justice Ogbuehi, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State has continued to generate ripples.
Family of the deceased went on a protest to seek justice for their killed relative.
Elder brother of the deceased, Augustine Ogbuehi, who led the protest, on Monday, accused operatives of EMOLVIS, a vigilante group in the local government area, of killing his brother.
Augustine claimed that EMOLVIS personnel allegedly drove into their community, last Monday, and shot Mr. Justice, who he said was assisting his mother in processing garri.
He begged for justice for his younger brother, who he insisted was allegedly shot by the vigilante group.
Still on the alleged killing of Justice, the Chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr. Chidi Lylod in an interview, said he has asked the Police, JTF in the LGA to investigate how members of the EMOLVIS group, who he said are not constitutionally empowered to bear arms, allegedly shot Justice Ogbuehi.
Lylod said the Vigilante members are only meant to share intelligence and synergize with other security agencies in crime fighting.
He warned that any of the EMOLVIS personnel found culpable will be dealt with in accordance to the law.
The LGA Chairman further disclosed that the deceased who was allegedly hit by a stray bullet was said to be a member of late Nwodi Onuigwe gang, even as the family maintained that he was innocent.
Recall that the Commissioner of Police, Emeka Nwonyi in a stakeholders meeting warned Vigilante group in the state to refrain from human rights abuses ranging from Killing, illegal detention, collection of ‘bail’ money, among others.
