Ex-minister, Uchendu, Others Appointed BoT of Badey Dev Centre

A one-time minister in Nigeria, Senator Benneth Birabi, has been appointment to serve in an 11-member committee as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Albert Badey Center for Development ABCD.

Birabi was appointment alongside Senator Andrew Uchendu, Emeritus Prof. Alexis Monsi, Michael Aloega, Mr. Tombari Badey, Mr. Gogobari Badey, Dr. Sirah Badey-Igbedion, Mrs. Tonta Badey-Linden, Mr Gabriel Deage, as members of the board.

Also appointed were a retired permanent secretary in the state, Mr. John Nalley, and the founder of the Albert Badey Center for Development, Mr Suage Badey.

The appointment is part of preparations for the formal launching of the ABCD, as revealed in a statement by the
chairman, media sub-committee, Mr. Blessing Wikina.

Speaking in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the ABCD Executive Director, Mr. Ibelema Green, explained that a date for the formal launch of the center and 90th post humour birthday celebration of the late Ogoni leader had been fixed for Saturday, April 25th at the EUI Event Center GRA Port Harcourt.

According to Green, “a one-time commissioner in the old Rivers State, Dr. Emmanuel Denenu, would deliver the Inaugural lecture, while the former deputy governor, Sir Gabriel Toby, would chair the occasion.”

Late Albert Badey had served the state in multiple positions including secretary to government, head of service, permanent secretary and commissioner at different times during his days in service.
