Ahead of the 2027 general elections, women of Ekureku extraction in the Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State have announced the endorsement of Dr Alex Egbona, the member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, for a fresh term.
The women said they were appreciative of the passion shown by Egbona in attracting development the Abi/Yakurr federal constituency and felt that it was fair and proper to rally round him for a fresh term as their representative.

Their leader, Mrs Veronica Agala, said after their meeting that “we the Ekureku women in Calabar want to appreciate our own father and son, Rt Hon Alex Egbona, even with his busy schedule he still finds time to appreciate and recognize the Ekureku women in Calabar and is working tirelessly for our federal constituency.
“Ekureku women in Calabar, we are more than 100 and we the women in one voice have agreed to support his 2027 vision that we are going to work with him to return back to the National Assembly.
“We have seen all the things he is doing. Everybody is benefitting from him. We, the women in Calabar and those back home are benefitting. Everytime, he remembers us. He is touching lives everywhere.
As mothers, we salute his courage and vision and are ready to work for him to bring him back to power. Dr Alex Egbona is a good man and deserves all the support to go back to office.
Agara said they would mobilise Ekureku women back home and in the entire federal constituency at the appropriate time, to ensure victory for him during a door to door campaign.
