Eid-el-Kabir: Be Vigilant, CP Charges Rivers Residents

The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State command, Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka, has charged residents of the state to be vigilant.
Nwonyi gave this charge while deploying personnel in a bid to fortify security across the state before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The CP urged residents of the state to take advantage of the Police Control Room numbers; 08032003514 and 08098880134, in reporting suspicious activities.
In a statement made available to TNN by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the police commissioner said, “The Rivers State Police Command in preparation for the hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration, has deployed adequate human and material resources to fortify security across the State before, during, and after the festivity.

“The command has hereby ordered massive deployment of conventional police personnel as well as the tactical teams attached to the Command, Explosives Ordinance Disposal and Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear (EOD & CBRN) operatives to various strategic places, especially worship centers.
“Consequently, Operation Order has been issued, while Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and DPOs have been directed to ensure apparent visibility policing during the festive period through constant supervision of officers and men deployed for the season with regards to standard operating procedures.”
Nwonyi further felicitated with, “the Muslim faithful in Rivers State on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and equally appreciates the good people of the State for their support and cooperation with the Police.”
