Egbona Picks PDP Ticket For Fresh Term Election

Dr Alex Egbona, the House of Representatives member from Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency, has picked up the ticket of the PDP for a fresh term election.

Even though Egbona was the party’s sole aspirant, party members still converged at Ugep, headquarters of the constituency, to elect him in the presence of INEC officials.

Shortly after receiving his certificate of primary election from Jacob Emorgor, the PDP chieftain who conducted the election, Egbona said his constituents should get ready for another season of impactful representation.

“Today is a historic day. I must thank INEC and all members of my party who have supported this move, to have me back to represent the good people of my federal constituency.

“This ticket means so much, not just for me but for the people of this constituency. It is a ticket for fresh impact, a ticket for another round of development projects and programmes.

“For the past about seven years, I have been in the National Assembly and you can also see what I have brought back home.

“There were others before me. Of course you all know the difference. There are others who have served in the state house of assembly, even as speaker. Please ask them what they did even in their own village, for which reason they now want to come and contest as member of House of Representatives.”

Egbona challenged the people to stand for positive development and refuse to be intimidated by smooth talkers who only know how to deceive people.

John Ifere, rhe senatorial hopeful for the Cross River Central Senatorial District, also challenged the people to ensure they reject those who do not mean well for them.
