Egbona Building New Generation Of Millionaires In C’River, Says LG Chair

 

 

About 600 youths and women drawn from all the 23 wards of Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency assembled at Itigidi, headquarters of the Abi Local Government on Monday for the opening ceremony of a 5-day training programme on modern fish and poultry farming, initiated by Dr Egbona, the House of Representatives member from the constituency.

 

 

 

At the ceremony, chairman of Abi Local Government Area, Farathor Robinson Riman who was the special guest of honour, spoke glowingly about Egbona, saying he remained the best member of the lower chamber of the National Assembly from Cross River State.

He said the re-election of Egbona in 2023 was already a done deal because he has performed far more than expectation and that of all those who had occupied the seat before now, Egbona was the best.

 

 

Apart from this, Riman said Egbona should get ready for a third term as member of the House of Representatives. He said Yakurr had taken the seat for 20 years and noted that Abi people needed to also occupy it for an equal number of years, especially because Egbona did not disappoint the constituency in just about three years.

 

 

To show his super excitement with the Rep member, the chairman led the participants into a chorus of three gbosas as well as a gun salute for Egbona, even as he urged them to pay great attention to what they will be taught for the five days of the training.

Dr Ande- Sikitub Y. Ali, a lecturer at the Bingham University, Abuja, in his remarks said he had never seen they type of representative like Egbona in his state, who would attract the type of training programme in question to his people.

 

 

He said the trainees should count themselves lucky to have Egbona as their representaitve. The trainer on modern fish farming, whose name was given as Dr Fish, also spoke in the same vein, saying the trainees should begin to see themselves as the next generation of millionaires through fish farming.

A former chairman of the local government who represented Egbona, Chuks Agube said Egbona was deliberate in his decision to empower the people of his constituency since he got into the Naitonal Assembly.

 

 

He said numerous empowerment programmes have so far been attracted to the federal constituency and urged the current trainees to make maximum use of the knowledge and money they would get from the training.
