C’River, Bayelsa Take Prime Positions As ADC Gains Momentum

Two states in the south south- Cross River and Bayelsa-are assuming strategic positions in the leadership structure of the ADC. It comes at a time that the party is seen to be gaining momentum and taking its place as a major opposition force.

On Wednesday, Senator Clever Ikisikpo, a former senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, as well Pastor Usani Usani, a former governorship aspirant in Cross River State, secured spots in the national executive committee of the party, along with others who were appointed to form the enlarged national exco.

Ikisikpo was part of the pioneer house of assembly in Bayelsa State, under the banner of the PDP. He moved from there to the House of Representatives before climbing to the senate. He left the PDP after his tenure in the senate, to join the APC.

He was among the first set of people to identify with the coalition in Bayelsa State and is now to serve as the party’s deputy national treasurer.

On his part, Usani, a former minister of Niger Delta, has been part of the ANPP before it was merged to form the APC. Under the APC, he battled to govern Cross River but failed.
