Calabar Ladies Open Golf Competition Holds In April

Come Friday, April 25, the traffic to the Calabar Golf Club will be heavy as female golfers across the country will converge for the Calabar Ladies Open golf Championship which will tee off on Saturday April 24 through Sunday April 25, 2021.
Disclosing this to TNN Sports in Calabar, the Lady Captain Calabar Golf Club, Emma Timothy said the 5-day golfing extravaganza will actually commence on Wednesday April 21 with children playing the game.
The aim, according to her, is to catch them young and guide the children early in life to develop love for the game of golf while April 22nd has been set aside for caddies to exhibit their skills on the game.
The captain hinted that Friday, April 23 will be a busy day with a number of activities to be carried out.
Apart from being the arrival day for the golfers, Emma Timothy revealed that veteran golfers male and female as well as invited guests will be in action while hotels will be allocated to registered golfers before a cocktail party comes up by 7pm.
She further revealed that while the cocktail party was in progress, there will be provision for the Nigerian Medical women Association, Cross River State Chapter to have a talk show with emphasis on health issues.
According to her, the Health experts will use the opportunity to educate women on various ailments affecting women including breast cancer and its early detection.
She confided in TNN Sports that the winners in various categories will go home with trophies and other good prizes during the closing and presentation ceremony scheduled for Sunday April 25th, 2021
She told TNN Sports that they are organizing this big event not only to bring the women golfers all over the country together but also to showcase the state tourism potentials.
