Bayelsa Security Parades 20-Year-Old For Theft

The Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit, has intensified its efforts to combat crime and ensure the protection of lives and property and maintaining peace and security across the state.

Recently, the security outfit has arrested more suspects following their alleged involvement in criminal activities, and handed them over to the police for thorough investigation.

Most recent of this proactive effort, was the arrest of 20-year-old Mr. Ekeowei Franklin, a native of Azuzuama Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.

Franklin, who resides at Tamic Road, Yenagoa, was apprehended at White Eagle Hotel, Etegwe, Yenagoa, after he allegedly entered the hotel premises through the fence.

He was accused of stealing the sum of One hundred thousand Naira (N100,000), drinks and some other items.

One of his alleged accomplices, identified as Mimi, reportedly escaped during the operation and is currently at large.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to Operation Doo-Akpó of the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and appropriate legal action.

Overwhelmed residents commended the group for their effort in the fight against crime, even as the security team reassured Bayelsans of its continued commitment to supporting the protection of lives and property and maintaining peace and security across the state.

The outfit also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide useful information to security agencies to help combat crime in the state.
