AIG Decorates 14 Newly Promoted Officers

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 16 comprising Rivers and Bayelsa states, Mr. Austin Agbonlahor has charged fourteen newly promoted officers of the zone to see their elevations as a call to more commitment to service.
The AIG gave the charge on Wednesday while decorating the promoted officers with their respective new ranks at the zonal command headquarters in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

He said “your promotion and decoration has put on you more responsibilities and challenges because to whom much is given, much is expected. I pray the Almighty God that you will be able to carry on with the challenges.
“Today, some of you will find that the police is being challenged and your promotion is a motivation for you to work harder so you will be able to address the challenges that are facing us.”

The police chief urged the officers to show more dedication to work and loyalty to superior officers, even as he called on the officers’ wives and the general public to cooperate with the police to achieve set goals.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Mr. Simeon Akpanudom from Akwa Ibom state who was promoted to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police thanked God, President Muhammadu Buhari, Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission for making their promotions possible.
DCP Udoh said “this is a call to higher responsibility, commitment and loyalty because the Force has given us so much individually and collectively.

Rivers Police Nabs Four Suspected IPOB Members

“We have spent our youth and prime in the service of this nation both internally and outside the shores of this country.
“We pledge our continuous and unalloyed commitment and loyalty to the federal republic of Nigeria and the Nigerian Police Force to serve this country with more vigour and strength so that at the end of the day we would have said we had these crop of officers who had blazed the trail in their service to the nation.”
Also speaking, the zonal Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mrs. Ikwo Lafieghe, who was promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, said she was humbled by the promotion, pledging more effective performance to the Force.

Other promoted officers include: Mr. Ewah Bassey, Mr. Francis Ekanem Rosemary Collins who were elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Promoted to the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police were Hassan Yahaya, Suleiman Abdullahi, Daramola Victor, Abdulkarim Nuhu, Adamu Danmusa, Bello Zaurah, Eugene Nlemuba, Stanley Egbo and Basil Ekwebelem who was elevated to the position of Chief Superintendent of Police.
High point of the event was the cutting of celebration cake by the promoted officers together with the AIG in charge of the zonal command.
