Although results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the five House of Representatives seats in Bayelsa State are yet to be officially announced, the exercise has been adjudged as peaceful across the state.
Some of the wards visited by our correspondent indicated that party faithful conducted themselves in a peaceful manner.
The party had earlier announced direct primaries as the adopted method for the exercise.
Unofficial information has it that the incumbent member representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency, Mr. Oforji Oboku won a returned party ticket unopposed with overwhelming turnout of party members during the exercise monitored by TNN at Yenagoa Ward 5.
We also gathered that Mr. Bernard Kenibai, member representing Sagbama constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly won the APC ticket for Sagbama-Ekeremor federal constituency.
For Southern Ijaw federal constituency, we learnt that the incumbent house of representatives members, Rodney Ambaowei clinched the party ticket to run for a second term while results from the remaining two seats are yet to be known.
The chairman of the Bayelsa State national assembly electoral panel of the APC, Mr. Solomon Ogba is yet to make official pronouncement on the outcome of the polls as at the time of filing this report.
